Holland

Well, we are finally recovered from our vacation to Holland! Amazingly, the kids did great. We were a little scared about the flight after our last experience flying to Europe with Alex, but they were both troopers. They even adjusted fairly quickly to the time change! As always, it was wonderful to see family. We stayed with Erik's Oom Kees and Tante Ria in their house in de Heen. Super Oma (our name for Erik's grandmother ) lives there also, so she was able to spend quite a bit of time with the kids. Erik's Mom also joined us there, so it was a great opportunity for her to spend some time with her grandchildren! I was very excited to be able to travel around Holland to visit places I had never seen. We chose a great time of year to visit, as the tulips are all in bloom in the Spring. We even made it to Keukenhof, which is an exhibition of Spring-flowering bulbs. It was breathtaking, and they even had a petting zoo and playground for Alex. We also traveled to Nieltje Jans (the Delta Project Expo), Miniatur Walcheren, Zierikzee, and Bergen op Zoom. We were fortunate to have Erik's extended family visit us over the course of our vacation at Kees & Ria's house--it was great to see everyone, and Alex & Matty were able to meet their 2nd cousin, Lara! All in all, a great vacation!
