Yosemite!!!!!

There is nothing more beautiful than Yosemite Valley in April. It is nearly impossible to capture this beauty on film. The last time we visited, also in April, Alex was only 4 months old. This time, he is 5 and was happy to run everywhere with his friends. Matty (of course) wanted to follow his big brother and the other kids. We were lucky enough to be able to go with Erik's mom, Hanneke/Oma, and our great friends, the Sikras. The boys especially enjoyed the indoor pool at the hotel, but we didn't get any photos there. Here are some photos of our hikes and the beautiful scenery:
All of us (minus the photographer, Hanneke) at the beginning of Yosemite Valley. Half Dome. Erik and I have promised that we will hike to the top someday.
Yosemite Valley from the tunnel at the beginning of the valley. This picture does not do justice to how awe-inspiring it really is.
All 5 of us.
El Capitan. I always feel so insignificant when next to El Cap. Just a speck in the world.
Bridal Veil Falls. This was my third time to Yosemite and the mistiest I have seen this fall. We were soaked by the time we hiked to the fall itself!
Rapids below Bridal Veil Falls.
Lower Yosemite Falls--there is a video later in the blog of this fall. Absolutely stunning.
Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls. When we come back to hike to the top of Half Dome, we will also hike to the top of Upper Yosemite Falls.
What do boys like to do? Climb. Here they are taking a break before stumbling back down the hill.
Vernal Falls. This was a moderately strenuous hike, mostly uphill, but the boys did great!
Snack break in a rock cave (what better place?)
I think I can, I think I can (hold up the rock, that is).

How fun it is to straddle two rocks!

Yosemite is beautiful & you captured it nicely. Makes me want to go camp inside a hotel of course!
