Happy 4th Birthday, Alex!

I can't believe you are 4 already! It really seems like just yesterday that you were born, and now you're such a big boy and such a great big brother. I am so very proud of what a sweet boy you've become, and how much you are learning every day! There are so many happy memories of the last 4 years that I don't know where to start. You surprised us and arrived 5 weeks early, just before Christmas. What a wonderful gift you were! Here you are, just a couple of days after you were born. How tiny you were! And you might recognize the blanket covering you--now known as "Bobo". I can't think of a night that you have slept without it!And here you are, about a year later. You were always smiling, and you loved to play with Mommy & Daddy. This picture always cracks me up. This was your 18 month picture at Sears and you wanted nothing to do with sitting still until I handed you my cell phone. See it in the picture? This picture is from January 2007, and is one of my favorite pictures of you, taken in one of your favorite places, Veterans' Park! We spend many weekend mornings there having a great time playing with friends and just running around. I'm pretty certain we'll be there many more times in the next year and a half! This picture always makes me cry. Here you are meeting Matty for the first time, and the look on your face is so gentle and sweet. You were such a good big brother from the very beginning! And here you are, looking so grown up. I'm not quite sure where the time has gone, but I have enjoyed every minute of being your Mommy. I am so blessed to have you as my son, and I am so excited to see you growing up and continuing to discover the world around you. I love you, more than you will ever know!
