Blessings

Since I didn't make it to church this morning (something about a really long night with two children awake and Mommy only getting 4 hours of sleep), I thought I'd take a minute to talk about the blessings in my life.

First, my wonderful husband. We are coming up on the 10-year anniversary of the day we met in April. It seems like so long ago, but I still remember it very clearly. Our good friend, Kim, introduced us at the George Strait Country Music Festival in Anaheim. We began talking that day and have hardly stopped since. We've been through a lot in the last 10 years--two deployments, living in different states, 7 jobs between the two of us, three moves, several tragedies, and the birth of our two beautiful children. We've had our ups and downs (doesn't everyone?), but I can't imagine my life with anyone else. I am very blessed to have found this wonderful man, and look forward to many happy years together.

I am also very lucky to have been blessed with two wonderful children. I always enjoyed life before they were born, but nothing can compare to being a Mommy. From the moment I found out I was pregnant with Alex, something inside me changed. You begin to think less of yourself and more of the little people you are entirely responsible for growing into loving, happy human beings. Sometimes I just stand there and watch them as they sleep, and am so incredibly greatful for the blessing of being their Mommy.

What more could I ask for?
